Shape Analogies are Non-Verbal Reasoning questions where the task is to work out how one diagram in an example pair has been transformed into the other, and then to apply the same transformation to a test diagram.

Matrices are questions where the task is to fill in the blank tile in a 2x2 or 3x3 grid.

Shape Analogies are usually included in the NVR section of the ISEB Pre-Test.

Matrices make up one of the two tests in the NVR Battery of CAT4 testing. Matrices questions are usually the one section of NVR included in the CEM Select test.
