One-to-one Tuition

One-to-one tutoring can be advantageous for a variety of reasons, and in a number of contexts. If your child is struggling to grasp certain concepts or finds that the class pace is moving faster than they'd like, it is often helpful to have a personal tutor who can take the time to explain in greater detail, or try a different method of tackling a problem. Alternatively, if your child is very able, you may find that they are becoming bored and disillusioned at school, in which case tutoring is a great way to challenge them and keep them interested in their studies.

All one-to-one tuition is conducted online via Zoom.

Reasoning

I specialise in teaching reasoning for 11+ and 13+ entrance exams, however, there is much more to reasoning than exams. Reasoning is one of the most valuable skills your child will learn at school; a skill that will be useful to them long after they have completed their entrance exams.

My approach to reasoning is to develop my student’s fundamental understanding of how to deduce a conclusion from a selection of information. A methodical approach is critical to successful pattern recognition, so whether your child struggles to process patterns, or is a natural pro, I refuse to sit back and accept a random approach. My focus is on teaching skills that arm my students with tools to tackle any scenario they come across.

My goal is that the children I work with develop skills for all types of reasoning; Vocabulary, Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, and Spatial Reasoning. What they learn will also help them in Maths and English, along with a wealth of other experiences they face in life.

Ultimately, my approach to reasoning is that it is a fundamental cognitive skill that should be developed and honed, regardless of what exams your child may or may not sit.
